Erica, 36, is a freelance visual storyteller based in Bergen County, New Jersey with 14 years of experience in news.
Erica recently left her staff position with The Roanoke Times in Virginia. She began her career working at several newspapers in Northeast Tennessee, including The Kingsport Times-News. Korean-American and raised in New York, she pursued her undergraduate degree at Boston University.
She obtained her M.A. degree at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication. During that time, she interned at The Roanoke Times, National Public Radio and attended the Eddie Adams Workshop XXVI. She enjoys working on long-form video projects, and stories on diversity and music.
Erica currently serves as a mentor for NPR’s Next Generation Radio, which trains college students during a week-long multimedia boot camp held across the country, and is also a member of Diversify.Photo.
She is available for assignments locally and abroad.
